Former Saved By The Bell Star Dustin Diamond Has Been Allowed To Remain Free While He Appeals His Four-month Jail Term For A Stabbing Incident At A Wisconsin Bar.
The actor was convicted of two disorderly conduct misdemeanours and a count of carrying a concealed weapon last week (ends26Jun15), after pulling a knife on Casey Smet during a fight on Christmas Day (25Dec14).
He was scheduled to report to jail to begin his four-month sentence on Sunday (28Jun15), but his lawyer filed a motion to delay the punishment so the 38 year old could challenge the decision.
The request was granted during a hearing in Ozaukee County Circuit Court on Thursday (02Jul15).
Diamond, who has appointed new attorney Dan Fay to handle the appeal, is due back in court on 27 August (15).
