Most lanes on the eastbound 210 Freeway near La Cañada Flintridge reopened by 8 a.m. Wednesday after a big rig overturned hours earlier and temporarily closed half of the freeway.
The big rig was hauling tons of celery and lettuce around 2 a.m. when it clipped a bridge and was tossed on its side, blocking all eastbound traffic, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash occurred near Ocean View Boulevard, west of the 2 Freeway, through Glendale. All eastbound traffic was diverted from the 210 to the southbound 2 Freeway until about 8 a.m., when three lanes were reopened.
The CHP is investigating the crash. The driver was not injured, and no other vehicles were involved, Officer Francisco Villalobos said. Westbound traffic was not affected.
