William Boucher
has been hit with hate crime charges after launching a racist tirade earlier this year after a black man spilled some coffee on his suit.
William “Billy” Boucher is facing upgraded hate crime charges in addition to one count of misdemeanor battery, and a warrant was issued for his arrest after he missed an August court appearance, reported DNAinfo.
The 23-year-old Boucher was recorded June 6 calling black passersby “vermin” and “slave” outside a Starbucks in the Loop neighborhood and then punching an older man and spitting on two other people.
“Shut up, slave!” Boucher shouted during the incident. “Do not talk to me!”
Boucher also referred to the man as livestock and suggested he should be tagged with a bar code involving his Social Security number.
“Get on all fours!” he yelled. “Do not walk on those two legs! You don’t deserve to walk on two legs, vermin.”
The Rogers Parks man was arrested during the incident after he was restrained by several witnesses.
Boucher, who describes himself on Facebook as an entrepreneur, told a Cook County judge during a July court hearing that he makes about $1,200 a month trading stocks online and running two marketing firms.
He asked the court to appoint a public defender in his case.
If he’s arrested on the warrant, Boucher could be held without bond.
