One of Israel’s most senior religious leaders, Sephardic Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef,

has stoked controversy after calling black people “monkeys,” seeming to target black Americans specifically during a sermon.

Yosef made the remarks in footage aired by the Israeli news site Ynet, reportedly citing a hypothetical story about encountering a black person in the U.S. He then referred to black people using the pejorative Hebrew word “kushi” and called a black person a “monkey.”

Last week, current Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan—a well-known anti-Semite—gave a speech where he said “the powerful Jews are my enemy” and that he had “pulled the cover off of that Satanic Jew and I’m here to say your time is up, your world is through.” Other previous Farrakhan highlights include saying the Jews were behind 9/11 and calling Adolf Hitler a “very great man.”
That alone is a story. But it doesn’t end there.
Soon after the speech, news broke that Women’s March leader Tamika Mallory was in attendance; she even received a shout out from Farrakhan during his address and posted about the event on social media. Meanwhile, Women’s March leader Linda Sarsour has collaborated with the Nation of Islam in the past, and Carmen Perez defended Farrakhan in the past, telling Amelia Harnish in January that there are “no perfect leaders” and that people need to understand Farrakhan’s contributions to Black and Brown circles.

A Denver woman who was killed in 2015 had learned on the day she died that her husband was allegedly having an affair with a woman he’d met on the dating app Tinder, according to court documents unsealed Monday.

Robert Feldman, 53,

was arrested on Feb. 13 and charged with first-degree murder in the death of his 45-year-old wife, Stacy Feldman, court records show, PEOPLE confirms.

On the one hand, it’s nice that President Trump’s budget chief and his chief economic adviser overcame their ideological differences to become friendly, as self-proclaimed “right-wing conservative” Mick Mulvaney, director of the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB), suggested in his farewell statement to Gary Cohn,

the outgoing head of Trump’s National Economic Council. On the other hand, calling Cohn a “globalist” leaves the message with kind of an acrid aftertaste.
