A Mayor de Blasio donor-turned-felon testified in extraordinary detail Thursday that he and his businessman pals wrote the book on city corruption — buying off the Mayor’s Office and the Police Department using brazen pay-to-play tactics.

“We’re going to become significant contributors, but we want access,” Jona Rechnitz, 34, testified telling de Blasio fund-raiser Ross Offinger after Hizzoner clinched the Democratic nod for mayor in 2013.

“Pirates of the Caribbean” star Depp, who finalized his divorce from Amber Heard on Friday, finished up the week by filing a fraud lawsuit against The Mandel Company, dba The Management Group, on Friday, claiming more than $25 million in damages.

“Mr. Depp is one of the most sought after and highly paid actors in the world. He is also the victim of the gross misconduct of his business managers — The Management Group and attorney Joel and Robert Mandel —

who collected tens of millions of dollars in contingency fees, purportedly based on an oral contract, all at Mr. Depp’s expense,” the complaint, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, reads.

Alanis Morissette’s former business manager has admitted embezzling more than $7m (£6m) from the singer and other celebrities and agreed to plead guilty to federal charges, prosecutors have said.

Jonathan Todd Schwartz,

48, of Los Angeles, was charged with wire fraud and filing a false tax return for failing to report the embezzled funds.

Top executives of hedge fund Platinum Partners were arrested Monday morning and charged with defrauding investors in one of the biggest such cases since Bernard L. Madoff’s Ponzi scheme.

As recently as this fall, Platinum told investors it oversaw more than $1 billion scattered in eclectic investments like loans to bankrupt companies and thinly-traded pharmaceutical stocks. It boasted one of the steadiest performance track records in the hedge-fund industry, with no down years for its funds.

The indictment unsealed Monday in federal court in Brooklyn charges Platinum founder and Chief Investment Officer Mark Nordlicht,

co-chief investment officer David Levy, and former president Uri Landesman with counts of securities fraud, investment adviser fraud and conspiracy.
